Do you finally want to earn your first dollar online? Have you tried multiple ways but always failed?

For almost two years I was lost in the world wide web and couldn’t find out how others were really making money.
Most gurus don’t share their real strategies but just sell their programs. Those programs are designed to make themselves richer. Not you!
The truth is, that it is relatively easy to make money online.

What Is A Niche Website?
Let’s make sure we are on the same page about niche websites first.
There are many types of websites, but most websites are about a specific topic.
This topic is called “a niche”.
An example would be “pets” or “kitchenware”.
If you are building a niche website, you have to choose your topic wisely.
If you are too general, you will have a hard time to attract visitors. Your competition will be too big.
Instead, it is better to narrow down the niche as much as possible.
Don’t just make a site about kitchenware.
“Cooking With Induction Cookware” is a much better niche.
There is a lot you can write about in that niche.
But all your visitors will come to you to learn more about induction cookware. They are more targeted.
Help them and it will lead to much more sales than a broad niche could ever make.
It is also much easier to build up a big following when you are an expert in a narrow niche.
You can build up trust by really helping your readers.
And trust leads to even more sales.

How To Find A Profitable Niche
Finding a good niche is not the easiest thing to do if that is your first time.
Always keep the following in mind:
- How can my niche/website make lives better?
- Is it something that interests me, too?
- Is it narrow enough?
- Are people looking for the things I will write about?
When picking your niche, you always need to be able to answer these questions! I recommend to write them down and check them one by one.
Here’s how I search for niches:
A. Look On Amazon Bestsellers
Amazon is a great place to search for niches. Just go to their bestsellers (you can find them here) and browse different categories.
Go for products that cost around $40-$50 USD.
Their commissions would be smaller, but they are easier to sell than more expensive products.
If you find a popular item that interests you, you might have found a winner.
B. Look For Products You Need Yourself
That’s another way of finding a niche.
Don’t care too much about what sells well on Amazon.
Think about something you need at the moment to improve your life.
I still look for those products on Amazon then, but not under their bestsellers.
It is safe to say, that others are looking for the same thing, too.
If you don’t like Amazon, you can look on Ebay as well. (Check out popular items on Ebay here.)
Once you have come up with something you need and you would like to recommend to others, you can proceed to the next step.
Use A Keyword Tool To Find A Fitting Domain Name
This is a very important step when researching a niche.
Our goal is to make money relatively fast, right?
You need a fitting domain name then.
If you can get a domain, that is also your main keyword, you will get visitors much faster.
With the main keyword in your domain, your site will rank better in Google when people are typing in that keyword.
If you don’t have a keyword tool yet, you can start with the free tool “Autosuggest“.
It will tell you how many people are searching for specific words (keywords) every month.

When you have found a fitting domain, don’t buy it just yet.
Take one more step to make sure it is a profitable niche:
Spy On Your Competition Before Settling On A Niche
Another vital step before you make your final decision what your site will be about.
Check out your possible competitors.
Simply type your main keyword (the one that would be your domain name) in Google and see what comes up.
If there are too many big and well-known sites on the first page, you might want to reconsider.
To beat them, you would have to work for many months before getting decent traffic.
Visit the sites of your competitors and check the quality of their articles.
Do you think you can write better than them?
Can you solve your customer’s problems better?
If you think you can, you have found your niche.

How You Make Profit From A Niche
You can make money by promoting affiliate or your own products.
You also can put on ads on your site or offer services.
There are many ways to make money on a website.
My favorite way is promoting affiliate products.
Once you have decided on a niche, you just need to find a company that sells this product and has an affiliate program.
Either use Amazon, especially if you used their bestsellers to find a niche, or look for other programs on Google.
If your site is new, Amazon is definitely the easiest partner to get accepted with.
