How Search Engine Optimization Is Done Correctly

Many people talk about it, you heard about it. But do you know how search engine optimization is done correctly?
Is it impossible or tedious to even try it as a way of bringing free traffic to your website?

Let me be clear here:
90% of my total traffic is sent to my websites from Google! Thanks to the effective use of SEO (search engine optimization).
It is not as difficult as it may sound, but you need to know what you are doing. Writing articles randomly might bring you success, but you can influence it a lot by using the small tricks I am going to show you below!

How search engine optimization is done correctly

1. Make A Plan Before You Start Writing

To become successful in the online business, you need to start making plans. By making plans you take it more serious and that is what you need to lift yourself higher.
I always have at least 5-10 ideas in store I want to write about. Before I sit down to write the actual article, I draft it in my mind. That doesn’t need to be exactly the article as it will look like in the end, but it makes writing so much easier and faster.
This “mind drafting” can be done anywhere. While doing sports, eating, working, showering. The place and time don’t matter.
Just get yourself in the mood and the words will come by themselves, once you start writing.

This technique is not SEO yet, but it will help you following along with the next steps:

2. Research Your Keywords

Research Your Keywords

Research Your Keywords

Now it is getting interesting! This is the most important aspect of SEO, so please read carefully!

Keywords are words or phrases people type into a search engine like Google if they are looking for answers or products.
When you can find out what people are looking for, you can leverage this knowledge to bring people to your website.

But how can you find those keywords?
There are several free and paid tools, you can use to find the gold nuggets.

Getting Keywords For Free

The best free tool I have found so far is from toolfeast.com. You can use it for finding keywords for the US, UK, Germany, France, India, Canada, Brazil, and Japan. I know of no other free tool, that offers that many different countries!
Once you have an idea what you want to write about, go to their “Autosuggest” tool. Then type in 2 or 3 words that describe the topic of your article. The main idea of your article.
For example, “how to make money”:

AutoSuggest Start

Autosuggest will then tell you how many people are looking for that phrase you just typed in. But that’s not all. It even gives you hundreds of suggestions of other keywords you can use.
Those keywords are, of course, related to the phrase you typed in yourself.

AutoSuggest Analyze

As you can see in the image, there are loads of keyword suggestions you can choose from.

It also analyzes those keywords and tells you how many competitors are using the same keyword.
You should always choose a keyword that many people are looking for but doesn’t have too many competitors.
By doing this, your chances of getting a good ranking in Google for that keyword is much higher.

So, after you have made up your mind what to write about, go and research your main keyword for the article.
Once you are done with that, you can continue to the next step:

3. Use Your Keyword The Right Way

Most important about SEO is that you don’t spam your keyword. Your article needs to be as naturally written as possible.
If your keyword is stuffed in the article 10 or more times, Google and other search engines most likely will punish you for that and your ranking for that keyword will be really bad.

This is where you have to put your keyword:

  • In the title of your article
  • In the first paragraph of your article
  • In at least one image (name of the image and alt tag)
  • In the last paragraph of your article

Make sure you are doing all this and then just write your article naturally! Of course, your keyword might still appear more often then. That is absolutely ok, as long as it happens NATURALLY!
It just makes sense that it appears now and then. It is the topic of your article, right?

Many people forget to put their keyword in the alt text of an image! Please put it there, too!
Google can’t look at the images, but it sure reads the name and alt tag of the image.
I have so many images ranking high in Google, that then link to my articles!

4. Write Long Articles For Better Ranking

Write Long Articles For Better Google Ranking

Many beginners think that they should write short articles that are easy to read and understand.
Unfortunately, that is wrong!

Only when you write at least 1000 words for each article, you will have the chance to get good rankings on Google.
Yes, there are always exceptions, but the more you write the better it is!

Long and informative articles are good for two things!

  1. Google will rank them higher (when you use my keyword strategy)
  2. Visitors get all the information they need and don’t leave your site to find their answers elsewhere

I think you understand how important the second point is!
Most likely you want to earn money with your website! If people don’t find answers on your website, they will go somewhere else. That is a customer you just lost!
Get as much information on your site and visitors will not only come, but they will stay!
They will start trusting you! They will start buying from you!

Great simple tips on SEO. As I’ve managed to get my webpages on Google page 1, I can verify what you shared is true. Also thanks for the ToolFeast recommendation. It will be a handy tool in my future internet marketing works. I did make mistake with my initial web building, which is failing to plan ahead. I now have a draft of the hierarchy of articles that I’m going to write.

    Hello again, Kenny.

SEO is the best way to get free and targeted traffic.
You can make your whole living by just using SEO on your websites.
ToolFeast is a fantastic and free tool to find excellent keywords. There are paid tools, too, of course. But especially in the beginning, ToolFeast is a great option.

Planning is very important, in my opinion.
The minimum I plan for is my next week. I know exactly what I will do and write about.
I outline my posts in advance.
Makes it much easier to write high quality articles.

    Cheers
    Moritz
