We call traffic “free traffic” when we didn’t spend any money to generate it.
Many beginners are struggling to get visitors on their sites.
If you don’t know how to do it, you might work on your website for months and don’t get any traffic.
This can be very frustrating and many give up at this point.
If you know what you are doing, you will get instant traffic from free sources on your website!
When the site is new, it takes a few days to get it indexed and ranked, but then you can already generate a flow of constant visitors.
There are several ways to get this kind of traffic.
And today I am going to show you exactly how I am doing it.
I have seen online marketers offer these kinds of tips for money.
That is something I don’t want to do.
I think everybody should have the chance to start his own online business and keep the initial costs as low as possible.
I partly answered this question above already.
Free traffic is, obviously, the cheapest way to get visitors to your site.
It is called “free traffic” for a reason.
Many website owners or bloggers don’t have the funds to spend hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars every month on traffic.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to spend a single dollar on paid traffic if you don’t want to.
Free traffic doesn’t only lower your costs, it can also be laser targeted.
A lot of traffic is nice.
A lot of TARGETED traffic is fantastic.
You can easily funnel this free targeted traffic and optimize it in a way, that it brings you regular sales.
After you have done the hard work and set it up, you can just keep it running.
I have websites generating regular income, without me doing anything for it.
That is passive income at its best!
Now, I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer.
Here’s what you have been waiting for:
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is still one of the best ways to get long-term and high-quality traffic.
Yes, SEO can take longer than all the other ways, but once you have set it up correctly you don’t have to do much to keep it running.

There you will learn how to find good keywords that you can easily rank for and how to add them correctly to your articles.
On-page SEO is super important. When your SEO is good, you can get thousands of visitors every month (or even day).
I recommend using mostly on-page SEO.
Off-page SEO, like building backlinks, is not as effective as it was a few years ago.
Backlinks are still good to have, but I would just let them build up naturally.
If you are building them artificially, make sure you don’t overdo it.
And never buy backlinks!
Bought backlinks can destroy your relationship with Google. I am sure you don’t want that to happen.
Social media is still big and should be used by every serious online marketer.
By just posting regularly on your business related fan page, you can draw loads of new and recurring visitors to your site.
But you really have to be social!
If you only post your stuff but don’t engage with your fans, you won’t see much progress.
Talk to your audience. Reach out to other bloggers in the same niche.
Build real relationships and your Facebook page will grow faster than you would have thought.
The same is true for all other social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Google+, etc.

You can find forums in any niche.
There are always people discussing topics in your niche on forums.
Find a few and join them.
It is very important, that you don’t just spam your link in such forums.
You will get banned faster than you can say “backlink”.
No, you have to be a helpful member on those forums.
Join conversations and solve problems of other members.
In many forums, you can add a link to your signature or profile after you have been there some time and gained their trust.
Once you can add a link to your signature, add a link to a post that adds value to the community.
Many people will click on that link when they know you as an awesome and helpful member.
Forums are great for creating GOOD BACKLINKS and generating traffic for free.
This is a bit more advanced.
Once you have a blog up and running and added several articles to it (I would say at least 20), you can reach out to other bloggers.
Tell them, that you love their blog and that you would like to write an article for it.
Give them the link to your own blog and/or a sample.
If they like what they see, they will agree to your offer.
In return for your article, they have to link to your own website. The best practice is to link to an article on the same topic.
That gives you another great source of free traffic.
Look for blogs that are bigger than yours.
But not too big!
You won’t get an answer from a huge and successful blog, if you are just getting started.
You have to build up a reputation for yourself first.
Later, people will contact you directly and ask if you want to exchange guest posts.
This is so much fun and helps both you and the other bloggers.
Quora is a website on which you can ask and answer all sorts of questions.
Create a profile and add your interests/fields of expertise.
Add as many as possible.
Then add a link to your best page (money page) to your profile.
Go hunting for questions you can answer.
Now, it is important that you answer the question directly on Quora!
If you only paste in your link, you won’t have much success.
Take your time and write a long and helpful answer.
Then, add your link and you will see results very quickly.
I am still doing this and it gives me hundreds of clicks.
Many of them turn into leads and sales.

If you take advantage of all those tips I just gave you, you will have fantastic free traffic.
Doing it right, will send targeted traffic to your site and this will result in leads and conversions.
However, there is one way of getting free traffic I have to warn you about:
Never join any activity on those sites.
While most of them are free, they won’t bring you quality traffic.
Everybody there just wants traffic for their own website.
So, they do visit your site, but you won’t ever get any leads or even sales from that.
Don’t waste your time on traffic exchange sites!
I have given you 5 fantastic ways to generate quality traffic for free.
Use those and you won’t have to worry about traffic anymore!
This article is about free traffic, but I want to talk a bit about paid traffic, too.
Paid traffic can be a fast and effective way to gain a big number of visitors.
When done correctly, they are laser targeted and convert very well.
However, you will have to spend money regularly to keep the stream of visitors flowing.
If you stop paying for this traffic and don’t have any other traffic sources in place, the number of visitors will go back to almost zero.
So, if you have the money and are not afraid to experiment a bit, you can absolutely pay for your traffic.
It is a rather steep learning curve, too.
